ABOUT MAURITIUS

Mauritius is a fascinating, world-in-one-island slice of paradise. It’s very name of conjures up images of tropical luxury and stupendous extravagance. While in many destinations famed for cobalt-blue seas, white sandy beaches and luxury hotels, you may eventually find yourself wishing for something to do besides sunbathing and swimming, it is often hard to know what to do next in Mauritius. The island is loaded with historic sites, cultural diversity, geographic variation and almost limitless activities to distract you from the daily grind of beach and pool. However, its single biggest asset is the relaxed charm of its warm and welcoming people.

CLIMATE

Mauritius enjoys a typically tropical climate with year-round heat, although the southeast trade winds help it never to feel too muggy. The summer months are from December to April, when it can nevertheless be extremely humid, and the winter, such as it is, runs from May to November, and is cooler and drier.

SUGGESTED TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Mauritius
Welcome to Mauritius, a paradise tropical island. On arrival at Mauritius Airport, our local representative will assist and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the island on your own and enjoy various activities offered in your resort hotel.

Day 2: North Island tour of Mauritius
Today after breakfast enjoy a tour of the North Island visiting the capital city of Mauritius, Port Louis. Visit the famous Pamplemousses Botanical Garden and view a wide variety of indigenous plants, and trees with some endangered species. Lastly visit Le Caudan Waterfront, an ideal place for the whole family to shop.

Day 3: South Island tour of Mauritius
After breakfast enjoy a tour of the South Island visiting Floreal factory near the town of Curepipe. Visit Le Trou Aux Cerfs, an extinct crater right in the middle of the island, the sacred lake of Grand Bassin. Later visit the view point at Black River Gorges National Park and lastly visit the Chamarel waterfall and the unique Seven Coloured Earth of Chamarel.

Day 4: Ile Aux Cerfs
Today after breakfast enjoy a day tour to the island of Ile Aux Cerfs. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful beach found on an outer island, a 5-10 minutes boat ride from the main island. Enjoy water activities like speed boat trips, Banana boat rides, kayaking and parasailing at nominal price.

Day 5: Undersea walk (Optional)
After breakfast the day is free for you to explore the island on your own. Or take an optional tour of Undersea Walk. Experience walking on the sea bed and view the undersea world, corals, meet with the fish of this tropical lagoon and much more. It’s an experience of a lifetime.

Day 6: Blue Safari Submarine (Optional)
After breakfast the day is free for you to explore the island on your own. Or take an optional tour of an hour’s adventure on board the Blue Safari Submarine, a rare pleasure in the world and unique to the Indian Ocean.

Day 7: Depart Mauritius
You will be transferred back to the airport to board your flight home.
